Manchester , UK . 26 March, 2007. – Icona Solutions Ltd., developers of aesthetica™, the unique CAE software product for interactively visualizing the impact of manufacturing variation on the aesthetic quality of product assemblies, has announced the availability of Service Pack 1 for Version 2.3 of the software.

“In this release we have delivered a number of enhancements that will enable our users to be significantly more productive and achieve even greater time and cost savings”, said Dr. John Maxfield, technical director, Icona Solutions Ltd. “This demonstrates our continued commitment to supporting our rapidly growing customer base and meeting the demands of the global automotive industry for solutions that can reduce lead times while improving product quality”

The Highlights of this Release

New functions and major enhancements introduced with the Service Pack 1 release for aesthetica Version 2.3 include:

  • A new geometry update capability that saves time and effort when using aesthetica during the early stages of product development when the geometry is frequently changing. The new function allows users to quickly and easily update the geometry within a model without having to rebuild all of the features, constraints, GD&T and measurement defined on the component;
  • Users can now accurately monitor the progress of the Monte Carlo simulation using the new simulation control panel. Simulations can also be stopped at any time and the results can be reviewed.
  • A new colour coding system provides direct feedback on the accuracy of target fit solutions when reviewing measurement plans within aesthetica
  • Improved memory management means that aesthetica can utilise all of the available memory on machines with 3GB/4GB, meaning that users can now work with much larger models and produce more visually accurate results.
  • Multi-function measurement windows can now show 2D sections, Monte Carlo results and statistical data for any given measurement at the same time.
  • New Per-Pixel rendering options utilises the latest advances in graphics hardware to deliver higher quality and more photo-realistic output;
